Prior to treatment, a topical anesthetic is applied. During treatment, most patients report only a slight vibration from the SkinPen®.

Each person's total healing time is unique. For two to four days after the microneedling procedure, most patients experience mild swelling and redness/pinkness (similar to a mild to moderate sunburn). Some people's skin may return to normal in about 24 hours.
